I’m talking about adults here. What the hell happened to us? No one I know wanted to be a lawyer or an advocate for equal rights. No kid I grew up with wanted to be a politician, garbage man, line cook, bus driver, office administrative assistant, or computer programmer. NO. We wanted to be race car drivers, fire fighters, lion trainers, big game hunters, ninjas, boxers, super heroes and the like. So what the hell happened to us? I’ll tell you what happened. We let someone steal a dream from us. We allowed someone to sell us on the improbability of forming super powers. Somewhere along the way we began to believe that racing cars couldn’t pay the rent. Some body told us that Tarzan was a fictional character played by Johnny Wiesmueler. Some individual was able to convince our parents that a higher education is what we needed.
We let it happen however. This mystery person I speak of is non other than The Man. It was once thought that this was a faceless ’White America’ trying to hold a brothadown. It’s is clear now though that The Man is real, and is probably working with several operatives around the US. The target has never been solely the African American community, but anyone trying hard to feed a family. It just so happened the black community figured it out first. The Man is making it hard for any American that has had to make decide on food or the gas tank.
You see The Man uses the shine of the world to make middle class families feel the need to kill a child’s dreams early on in life. Making the child think that his goals are unattainable, urging him to go of to college. In doing so the child, now an adult, keeps the cycle going. This in turn keeps The Man an urban legend. So the next time you reminisce about what you actually wanted to be when you were a kid, just know that The Man killed your dream.
It is now time to take action. The Man’s scheme is falling apart at the seems. His most prized pupils are now greedy corporate executives, putting a strain on Middle America that even The Man can’t believe. Together we can take The Man down, and take back our dreams. Come on people, now’s the time. He’s created an unbalanced economy. The have not’s far out number the privileged. We can do this. I know we can, and I have not given up on my dream do be a laser gun carrying master ninja from the 29th century.
