I’m an old fashioned believer in ‘Don’t knock it till you rock it.’ So with that as my moral compass, I rode my bike to work today. The shit is difficult, so props to anyone that can do it regularly.
I also owe all the old people an apology. i now see that it is possible to travel uphill to work both ways. See I rode to a light rail station and took a train for a good portion of the distance. The ride to the station was uphill. Now from work I have to ride back the station which is uphill. So this paradox is possible. Grandpa I know you can hear me wherever you are, and I’m sorry I cursed you out and caused your triple heart attack, when you told me about the old days of walking uphill both ways to wherever you were going. I’m sorry I called you a crooked old bastard that god was itching to take of this planet. I’m also sorry I was double parked across two handicap access ramps crushing any hope of an ambulance reaching you in time. You were right. And you probably had to go uphill both ways to get to the pearly gates.
